Food retail

Grosa is a B2C product marketplace that uses a hyperlocal focus to connect Afro-Caribbean grocery merchants with a niche market. They needed expert help with advanced features such as multi-seller shopping carts and a complex product structure.

Challenges

Multiple shops per seller
Multiple shops per seller

Grosa targeted some sellers that had multiple grocery stores in London and other cities. Despite having one owner, they were run independently from each other.

Complex product structure
Complex product structure

Multiple grocery merchants with a wide variety of product lines and product variations make category and navigation design challenging.

Merchant profiles

Since products are selected from individual grocery shops, Grosa wanted merchant profiles to look and function like microsites.

A high volume of multi-product, multi-seller transactions were further complicated by different discount and shipping options.

Our Approach to Tackle the Challenge

Map search

Grosa’s business model relies on hyperlocal access. It had to be easy for shoppers to find grocery merchants close to their location.

We created a map view of nearby merchants based on shoppers’ postcodes. Shoppers can click on blue location pins on the map to see individual store detail which includes distance from their location.

They can refine their map search further by using filters like distance, customer ratings, or delivery fees and types.
