A promoted listing can either be paid for product placement at the top of a search results page or it could give verified or trusted sellers more visibility. The main challenge is to update the marketplace search algorithm so that promoted listings are displayed more prominently in product search results.
The Box Hut allows sellers to promote any product of their products for a period of time. We had to figure out when promoted products were to be displayed, how to rank them and how this would impact search results and the buyer journey.
FanPass sellers can earn a ‘trusted’ tag when they reach specific thresholds for turnover, customer satisfaction and cancellations. All the products of a qualifying seller will as result be labeled as trusted. According to FanPass, trusted listings have a 20 percent higher conversion rate.
